shiba.town Content Policy
This Content Policy sets out the rules for posted content on "shiba.town" (the "Service"), so that all Users can use it with peace of mind. This Policy forms part of the Terms of Service.
1. What shiba.town Values
shiba.town is a place for expressing and sharing memories from the perspective of Shiba Inu dogs. Alongside living Shiba Inu ("Residents"), the memorial profile feature for Shiba Inu who have passed away due to illness, old age, or other causes ("Memorial Residents") is one of the Service's core features.
To honor this concept and maintain a space where every User can share their memories with confidence, we have established the following rules.
Posts written in a Shiba Inu's voice are a stylistic device rooted in the Service's concept; they do not mean that a dog has actually written the text. While respecting this creative device, when posting about real events (including veterinary visits, diagnoses, or a dog's passing), please ensure the content is based on fact.
2. What We Encourage You to Post
- Photos, videos, and stories about a Shiba Inu you own (or owned)
- Posts written from a Shiba Inu's perspective, about everyday moments and feelings
- Warm comments and reactions (Paws) toward other Users' Shiba Inu
You are welcome to use the optional translation feature or the AI Shiba Writer feature (which rewrites text in a Shiba-Inu voice) when composing posts and comments. These are supporting tools only; the final decision about what to post remains yours. When using the AI Shiba Writer feature, please check before posting that the generated text still accurately reflects the real event you intend to describe.
3. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following posts, comments, profiles, and other conduct are prohibited. Where the Operator determines that this Policy has been violated, the Operator may remove the relevant content and/or restrict the offending account without prior notice.
- Content that violates the law: illegal trade in goods or services, or other content that violates applicable law
- Attacks or harassment directed at others: defamation, threats, bullying, or harassment directed at specific individuals or groups
- Discriminatory content: discriminatory expression based on race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or similar characteristics
- Impersonation: impersonating another User, a third party, or the Operator
- Spam or improper promotion: unrelated advertising, fraudulent posts, or mechanical/mass posting
- Rights infringement: posting photos or text you do not have the right to post (for example, reposting someone else's photo without permission)
- Excessively sexual or violent content: obscene material, or excessively violent or graphic content
- Content evocative of animal abuse: content that constitutes, or promotes or glorifies, animal abuse
- Conduct contrary to the purpose of the Memorial Shiba feature: disrespectful remarks, unkind comments, or harassment directed at memorial profiles or related posts for Shiba Inu who have passed away
- Misuse of the platform: abusing the reporting or blocking features for the purpose of harassment not grounded in fact
- Misuse of AI features: submitting improper input to the translation feature or the AI Shiba Writer feature that goes beyond its intended use
- Deception through false statements of fact: even when using Shiba-Inu-voice expression (including text converted through the AI Shiba Writer feature), intentionally posting content about real events that is factually false, for the purpose of deceiving others
4. Reporting
If a User finds a post, comment, or account that they believe violates this Policy, they can report it to the Operator using the report feature attached to each post. When filing a report, the User selects one of the following reasons:
- Spam
- Harassment
- Inappropriate content
- Hateful content
- Other
The Operator (an administrator) reviews reported content and, where necessary, takes action such as removing the post or restricting the account. We may not individually notify the reporting User of the content or outcome of every report. Filing frivolous reports, or reports not grounded in fact, is itself a violation of this Policy.
5. Blocking
If there is another User a User would prefer not to interact with, they may use the blocking feature. Once blocked, each User's posts stop appearing in the other's feed and search results. Blocking is not disclosed to the blocked User.
6. Consequences of a Violation
Where a violation of this Policy is confirmed, the Operator may take one or more of the following actions, depending on the circumstances:
- Removal of the relevant post or comment
- Suspension of the account, for a fixed period or indefinitely
- Any other action the Operator deems necessary
If you disagree with an action taken, please contact us using the details below. Please note that we may not be able to respond individually to every inquiry about a specific action.
7. Contact
Please direct any questions about this Policy, or any concerns about an action you disagree with, to the following contact:
- Contact email: info@shiba.town
8. Changes to This Policy
The Operator may amend this Policy as necessary. The amended Policy takes effect once posted on the Service.
